Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Recreational Therapist to join our team at Suncoast Behavioral Health Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing creative and therapeutic activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement individualized recreational therapy programs that meet the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, including art, music, drama, and outdoor activities, to promote positive changes in patient behavior and functioning.
  • Collaborate with other treatment team members to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of our patients.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on healthy coping skills, leisure planning, and community resources.
  • Participate in treatment team conferences and contribute to the development of treatment plans and progress summaries.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field.
  • Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS) certification.
  • At least two years of experience providing recreational therapy in a psychiatric setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
