Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform office work using Civil3D and/or Microstation with Geopak / Open Roads Designer as needed, ensuring accurate and efficient data management.
  • Conduct fieldwork using a robotic total station and RTK GPS, collecting and verifying data to ensure high-quality results.
  • Maintain organized records, both physical and digital, to facilitate easy access and retrieval of information.
  • Read and interpret highway, engineering, and construction plans, preparing field stakeout files to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Oversee the data collection of various features and details of construction portions of pipelines, ensuring comprehensive and accurate data.
  • Perform and review project research, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Communicate daily with senior office staff, providing updates and insights to inform decision-making.

Requirements:

  • 4-12 years of experience in pipeline surveying, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software.
  • Previous experience with Civil3D and/or Microstation/Geopak/ORD, with a strong understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
  • Strong technical written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-discipline team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.

Physical Demands:

  • Mobile work: exerting up to forty (40) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Mobile work involves walking and traversing project sites to collect features, requiring a high level of physical fitness and mobility.

Working Conditions:

  • The worker is required to work in the field and will be exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, and weather events.
  • Additional environmental conditions may vary by job site, requiring adaptability and flexibility.
