We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Department Lead to oversee the maintenance functions of our food manufacturing facility in Columbus, GA. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in food industry maintenance supervision and a proven understanding of preventive maintenance practices.

About the Role

This is a leadership position that requires strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities, ensuring food safety and compliance, managing staff and resources, and contributing to budget development and efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment
  • Assign tasks and prioritize work orders for maintenance technicians
  • Oversee daily setup and ensure equipment functionality before production
  • Ensure food safety and compliance with regulations (HACCP) and sanitation protocols
  • Supervise and coach maintenance technicians, providing training and performance feedback
  • Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, coordinating purchases with relevant departments
  • Manage and troubleshoot maintenance issues, potentially including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food industry maintenance supervision, preferred
  • Proven understanding of preventive maintenance practices and principles
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP) and sanitation procedures
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills to motivate and develop a maintenance team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
