Medical Assistant/Patient Care Specialist

American Family Care Aurora Saddle Rock is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician, you will provide general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
- Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
- Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
- Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
- Respond to all lab messages and call back requests
- Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
- Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
- Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
- Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation
An associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
