Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the highest quality of patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the laboratory team to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory standards.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to resolve technical issues and improve laboratory processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to laboratory personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of laboratory services.
Requirements
  • Minimum five (5) years full-time supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
  • At least 6 years of clinical experience.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Information Systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Supervisor at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated.
Physical and Mental Requirements

The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Comprehensive theoretical and operational job knowledge in designated specialty.
  • Knowledge of organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education

Bachelor's Degree required.

License/Certifications

ASCP Certification required.
