Pharmacist-Inpatient- Allegheny General Hospital- Casual

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled pharmacist to join our team at Allegheny General Hospital. As an inpatient pharmacist, you will play a critical role in optimizing patient care by promoting rational, safe, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. You will be responsible for conducting prospective drug review, assessing medication prescriptions, and ensuring that medications are accurately and efficiently compounded and dispensed. You will also provide accurate and timely drug information to other health professionals, patients, and the public, and collaborate with the healthcare team to manage drug therapy, protocols, and guidelines. Responsibilities:
• Conduct prospective drug review on all prescriptions processed
• Assess medication prescriptions to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems
• Ensure that medications are accurately and efficiently compounded and dispensed
• Provide accurate and timely drug information to other health professionals, patients, and the public
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage drug therapy, protocols, and guidelines
• Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D)
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of PA at hire or sit for boards and obtain licensure within 120 days
• Hospital experience preferred
