We are seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Nurse to join our team at Masonicare Health Center - Behavioral Health in Wallingford, CT.

Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Nurse provides professional nursing care to emotionally disturbed and/or mentally ill patients in our 50-bed Behavioral Health Hospital. This is a night shift position with 32 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Assumes professional responsibility and accountability for a group of residents/patients, including medication administration, teaching, and supervision of nursing staff.
  • Conducts intake assessments, performs ongoing and systematic assessments, and develops a comprehensive goal-directed interdisciplinary plan.
  • Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications, and arranges further medical attention when necessary.
  • Assists patients in understanding their emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment, and maintains a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
  • Documents patient information on medical charts and follows physician's written orders, maintains patient confidentiality, and maintains accurate records and documentation.
  • Performs administrative assignments, such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes in the computer system.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
  • Minimum one year clinical experience, preferably in an acute and/or Behavioral Health capacity.
  • Current RN or LPN license in the State of Connecticut, in good standing.

The pay range for this position is: $40 - $52 / hour.
