Position: Certified Substance Use Counselor

Overview:
Boulder Community Health is in search of a dedicated Certified Substance Use Counselor to join our Behavioral Health Services team. This role involves the development and execution of culturally attuned, evidence-based treatment programs for individuals dealing with substance use disorders (SUD). The counselor will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team within our specialized withdrawal management unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement evidence-based therapeutic programs for SUD.
  • Provide mentorship and training to staff regarding SUD assessment and treatment methodologies.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluations to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches for continuous improvement of treatment programs.
  • Assess patient conditions to identify issues, set goals, and determine interventions.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create and revise treatment plans.
  • Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring that care is trauma-informed and suitable for their emotional and mental development.
  • Facilitate both group and individual therapy sessions.
  • Educate patients and their families to enhance understanding of treatment processes.
  • Maintain accurate and concise documentation of treatment plans and patient responses.

Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.
  • Must hold a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) certification or be a Certified Addiction Specialist with the LAC obtained within six months of hire.
  • Possession of LCSW or LPC credentials is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification is necessary.
  • Commitment to addressing and mitigating bias and stigma in all interactions.
