Position Overview:

The Medical Assistant at Jackson Purchase Medical Center is responsible for executing routine clinical and administrative tasks to support the designated department or office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient evaluations and treatments under the guidance of a physician or nurse.
  • Conduct basic diagnostic tests and collect specimens, while monitoring and reporting any changes in patient conditions.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately.
  • Manage medical supplies and equipment, including ordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, reception duties, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Qualifications:

An Associate Degree is required, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Must hold a Registered Nurse license valid in the State of Kentucky.
*New Graduates may practice under a provisional license for up to 6 months, with the expectation of obtaining a full RN license within that timeframe. Failure to do so will require cessation of practice in a licensed nursing role.

BLS certification is mandatory.
