Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Police Officer to join our team at Richard Bland College. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff. You will be the first point of contact for the public and will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, conducting investigations, and enforcing laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide law enforcement services to the college community, including responding to emergency situations, conducting investigations, and enforcing laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough patrols of the college campus, including buildings, parking lots, and surrounding areas.
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations, including issuing citations and warnings.
  • Provide assistance to students, faculty, and staff, including providing information and referrals.
  • Participate in community policing initiatives, including building relationships with the local community and providing educational programs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current certification as a law enforcement officer by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.
  • U.S. citizen.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Virginia driver's license.
  • No convictions of felonies and/or serious misdemeanors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Law enforcement experience, preferably in a campus environment.
  • Completed FEMA/NIMS IS-100 and IS-700.
  • Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
