Assistant Transportation Manager

At First Student, we are committed to providing safe and reliable transportation services to our customers. As an Assistant Transportation Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our daily routes and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Contractual Manager in supervising daily operations and monitoring performance.
  • Identify and resolve safety issues, and investigate client complaints.
  • Ensure achievement of on-time performance goals and monitor driver safety.
  • Assist with review and resolution of union grievances.
  • Coordinate with dispatch staff to assign spare drivers and buses as required.
  • Audit and correct athletic trip invoices based on company guidelines.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in transportation, with 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Computer literacy skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with basic vehicle mechanic processes and maintenance.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Work extended hours regularly, including weekends.
  • Possess a working vehicle to travel within the service area as needed.
