Facilities Operations and Maintenance Lead

Direct-Hire Opportunity

Compensation Range: $75K - $97K (Dependent on Experience, Education, and Certifications)

Work Schedule

The Facilities Operations and Maintenance Lead will typically work Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Flexibility for late afternoon, evening, weekend, or on-call service hours may be necessary as operational demands arise. Work schedules may be adjusted to meet production requirements.

The Facilities Operations and Maintenance Lead will report directly to the HSSE Manager and will be responsible for managing a team of technicians at our Houston facility, as well as a future location in Sugar Land.

This role is expected to embody our Core Values while collaborating with employees, vendors, and clients to achieve collective, departmental, and organizational objectives. The individual will be responsible for understanding and promoting safe and effective work practices while adhering to Safety programs and policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate daily maintenance and support for buildings, grounds, facility systems, and production machinery.
  • Regularly monitor, address, and update various maintenance-related dashboards to ensure timely service delivery across all departments. Report on service delivery efficiency to management daily.
  • Supervise staff in the installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of production machinery and building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and production tools.
  • Proactively resolve internal customer issues.
  • Ensure the availability of inventory for tools and parts at each facility's asset stock, submitting purchase requisitions as necessary.
  • Participate in daily team meetings to clarify priorities for maintenance tasks.
  • Mentor and develop the maintenance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and building positive relationships across the facility.
  • Lead preventive maintenance initiatives for all machinery and equipment, creatively addressing challenges to meet production goals.
  • Research and implement process enhancements with appropriate documentation and training.
  • Achieve proficiency in all job-related systems and processes, serving as a coach and mentor to team members.
  • Safely operate powered industrial trucks, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and material handling equipment.
  • Implement, monitor, and report on relevant Key Performance Indicators to showcase improvements. Adhere to metrics established by management.
  • Conduct all responsibilities while adhering to safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with safe work practices and collaborating with HSSE team members to address hazards or incidents.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop, prioritizing housekeeping and compliance with Lean 6S principles.
  • Allocate approximately 70% of time to scheduling, parts ordering, and supervising the maintenance team, with 30% dedicated to hands-on installation and repairs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • Clean driving record with eligibility for company insurance.
  • Current industrial facilities and/or maintenance certifications.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a facilities and production maintenance technician.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role supervising maintenance technicians.
  • Knowledge of electrical principles, schematics, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training, and Arc Flash best practices.
  • Experience in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment, including CNCs, welders, paint booths, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience operating powered industrial trucks, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, and other material handling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, Fiix, or Upkeep.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software such as Syteline.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and 6S methodology.
