Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative leader to join our team as an Inclusion Coordinator. This role is essential in responding to inquiries and referrals, providing thoughtful and relationship-driven technical assistance to early childhood educators and programs, ensuring high-quality, inclusive care for all children.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture trusting relationships with early education programs and a diverse range of educators to foster an environment conducive to inclusion, learning, and reflection.
- Collaborate with Inclusive Partners and the Child Care Partners team to implement inclusive practices across the region.
- Design and deliver training sessions, consultations, and technical assistance to early educators, enhancing the quality of inclusive care.
- Manage and analyze project data effectively.
- Conduct community presentations as requested by the supervisor.
- Provide on-site support to programs requiring intensive assistance, including observation and constructive feedback.
- Assist providers in developing individual and environmental strategies for inclusion.
- Utilize appropriate observation and assessment tools for environmental and individual evaluations.
- Offer materials, resources, and suggestions to strengthen the implementation of best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Human Development, Child and Family Studies, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology) or a Step 10 on the Oregon Registry.
- A minimum of 20 hours of training in adult education/development or a commitment to obtain this within the first year of employment.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
- At least three years of direct service experience in early care and education.
- A minimum of one year of experience in supporting adult professional development.
- Familiarity with early learning quality assessment tools, including Classroom Assessment Scoring Scale (CLASS) and Environmental Rating Scale (ERS).
- Knowledge of child assessment and screening tools such as Ages and Stages Questionnaire and Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA).
- Understanding of Early Learning Frameworks and Curriculum, including Practice Based Coaching and Universal Design.
