Job Summary

Vestas American Wind Technology is seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector II to join our team. As a Quality Inspector II, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products by testing and inspecting them at various stages of the production process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify defects and impact on product quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with production and technical support departments to resolve issues
  • Create and maintain relevant documentation to solidify improvement methods
  • Coach and support production members on approved assembly processes
  • Perform containment of non-conforming parts or products
  • Facilitate non-standard work events and ensure all processes are followed
  • Inspect and verify material according to specifications or known defects
  • Coordinate rework activities for NC parts or products
  • Provide independent quality approval to processes
  • Facilitate Form, Fit, and Function testing of identified products
  • Write NC reports on parts not meeting defined specifications
  • Support the production line on potential quality issues
  • Verify product requirements are fulfilled before release for storage
  • Inspect product to determine compliance with order specifications
  • Compile and communicate the Quality report
  • Perform the Material Review Board (MRB) meeting daily
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One to three years related production assembly experience and/or quality training preferred
  • Auditing, quality assurance/control/improvement, statistical tools, 6 Sigma, statistical analysis, and SPC preferred
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Set a good example of personal integrity
  • Ability to communicate effectively on the job
  • Use measuring tools and gauges
