Position Overview:
AmTrust Financial is seeking a skilled and experienced Property Underwriter to become a vital part of our E&S Property team. This role involves regular collaboration with wholesale brokers to deliver tailored coverage solutions for both new and renewal business, aligned with client requirements. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, showcasing a strong commitment to customer service that aligns with the department's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and management of an E&S Property portfolio by effectively communicating and executing the department's business strategy.
- Evaluate, review, and negotiate policy terms and conditions that adhere to the department's underwriting standards.
- Underwrite new and renewal business by thoroughly analyzing loss history, exposures, and other relevant data of insureds or prospective insureds.
- Contribute to marketing strategies, product evaluations, service enhancements, geographic targeting, and broker insights.
- Perform additional duties as required, including report generation and special projects to support the success of the product line unit.
- Proactively seek and cultivate new relationships with wholesale brokers.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience.
- Familiarity with E&S property insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles is preferred.
- Proven experience in underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business.
- Knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and industry trends.
- Comfortable engaging with various external stakeholders and trading partners, with the ability to influence and persuade through strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A mindset focused on building and growth.
