Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter - Property to join our team at Allianz Commercial (AzC). As a global leader in corporate and specialty risks, we offer a unique opportunity to work with complex and challenging risk exposures in over 200 countries and territories.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in underwriting profitable Property business, with a strong understanding of LoB products and portfolio. They will also have established relationships with brokers at peer group level and a good understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets, negotiating participation, pricing, and terms and conditions with brokers.
  • Proactively manage capacity, underwriting and evaluating Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, and ensuring an understanding of catastrophe modelling and interpretation of scenarios.
  • Underwrite International Insurance Programs and ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to brokers or clients.
  • Support development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for LoB regionally, training, developing, and coaching less experienced staff.
  • Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business, positively representing AzC externally to the market.

What You'll Bring to the Role

To be successful in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration, and a minimum of 3 years' experience in underwriting profitable Property business. You will also need to have a robust understanding of policy administration life cycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation.
