Position Overview

The Travel Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of sterilization and infection control within healthcare facilities. This position requires a dedicated professional with a solid understanding of sterilization processes and protocols.

Certification Requirements
  • Certification from AHA is mandatory; refer to the Unit Description for ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and CHEMO certifications.
  • Verification of Tech Certification at the national level is essential.
  • Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are required.
  • Pass/Fail Testing acknowledgment is necessary.
  • Verification of State License 1 is required.
  • NURSYS verification for RN, LPN/LVN, and AP is needed.
Job Responsibilities
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with AAMI ST79 standards are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of travel experience is essential; first-time travelers will not be considered.
  • Supervisory duties include managing the sterilization floor, overseeing sterilizers, coordinating staff breaks/lunches, and effective communication with the Operating Room.
  • The initial two weeks of orientation will be conducted on the day shift from 11 AM to 7:30 PM before transitioning to the contracted schedule.
  • Experience in Orthopedics, Robotics, Neuro, Endoscopy, and Spine is required.
Qualifications
  • CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification is mandatory.
  • CFER certification is preferred.
  • Experience with SPM tracking and VPRO is required.
  • No requests for time off (RTO) will be accepted during this contract.
Work Schedule

Weekend and holiday shifts will be rotated among staff members.
