Sterile Processing Manager Job Description

At STERIS, we're committed to creating a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare solutions. As a Sterile Processing Manager, you'll play a critical role in leading our team of experts in sterile processing and central sterile supply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the Sterile Processing Department team in day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead training efforts and implement proper policy implementation to ensure the highest level of quality and patient safety.
  • Interview and hire new employees, and coach existing employees to meet company objectives and customer requirements.
  • Assist Sterile Processing Technicians with instrument processing as needed.
  • Communicate and foster relationships with all levels of hospital staff and STERIS leadership to deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) and review quality metrics with customers.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of Sterile Processing Department experience required.
  • 1+ year in an SPD supervisory/leader position.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM required.
  • Additional certification for SPD Management/Leadership is preferred.
