Job Summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Medicine Specialist to provide professional services to patients, business partnerships, and staff. As a key member of our team, you will perform assigned tasks of direct and indirect care in the ambulatory setting, meeting the care needs of patients under the direct supervision of a physician or assigned Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional services to patients, business partnerships, and staff.
  • Perform assigned tasks of direct and indirect care in the ambulatory setting.
  • Meet the care needs of patients under the direct supervision of a physician or assigned Supervisor.
  • Assist Medical Review Officer certified physicians with organizing and facilitating the drug testing process.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program or Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA) or registration (RMA) preferred.
  • 1 year customer service experience or 2 years of experience in a medical field, preferably in a clinic.
  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Updated continuing education courses in safety and occupational health.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Computer proficiency, including prior experience with electronic medical record systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to use various forms of office equipment.
  • Ability to work in conjunction with staff in a supportive way to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Ability to address difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
License or Certification
  • Current Wisconsin LPN license (if applicable).
  • MRO Assistant Certification within 1 year of employment.
Additional Certifications Required Within 6 Months of Employment
  • NIOSH Certification.
  • Pulmonary Function, Audiometric Testing Training Certification.
  • Drug Screen Collection Certification.
  • BAT Certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
