Responsibilities

The Occupational Medicine Specialist will provide professional services to patients, business partners, and staff, adhering to established standards and practices. This role will perform assigned tasks of direct and indirect care in the ambulatory setting, working under the direct supervision of a physician or assigned supervisor. The specialist will also be certified as a Medical Review Officer Assistant to assist with the drug testing process.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a graduate degree from a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program, or a graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program. Additionally, you will need to have active Medical Assistant certification (CMA) or registration (RMA), as well as 1 year of customer service experience or 2 years of experience in a medical field, preferably in a clinic. You will also need to be proficient in English and have excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

License or Certification

You will need to hold a current Wisconsin LPN license (if applicable) and obtain MRO Assistant Certification within 1 year of employment. Additional certifications, including NIOSH Certification, Pulmonary Function, Audiometric Testing Training Certification, Drug Screen Collection Certification, and BAT Certification, will be required within 6 months of employment. You will also need to maintain Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers certification.

Exemption Status

This role is non-exempt.

Compensation Detail

The hourly rate for this position is $20.61 - $28.91, and benefits are eligible. The schedule is part-time, with 40 hours per pay period, and the workweek is Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm (8 hour shifts). There are no weekend or holiday shifts required.
