Collaborating closely with senior management, you will ensure that the estimating timeline is adhered to and that all projects are executed efficiently.

Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the estimating team, assessing current workloads, and providing assistance on various estimation initiatives. The Chief Estimator will oversee project scheduling, training, and the definition of scopes of work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiating projects within the estimation software
  • Supporting the development of technical proposals
  • Engaging in pre-estimate discussions, estimate walkthroughs, and pre-bid conferences
  • Conducting thorough value engineering assessments for each project
  • Managing multiple bids concurrently, including high-value and intricate projects
  • Collaborating with project managers and superintendents to resolve constructability challenges
  • Formulating purchase orders and subcontracts
  • Assisting in the selection of appropriate estimating software
  • Contacting subcontractors and suppliers for pricing information
  • Reviewing project requirements such as sales tax, business licenses, and wage considerations
  • Creating wage scales specific to each project
  • Establishing procedures for the estimation process
  • Engaging in discussions with owners and engineers about prospective projects
  • Strategizing to meet MWBE objectives or good faith efforts

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • At least 10 years of experience in estimation
  • Experience in the construction sector
