We are seeking a highly skilled Unified Communications Network Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in unified communications, cybersecurity, and network engineering to drive innovation and excellence in our organization. You will work closely with our team of seasoned engineers and analysts to develop and deploy real-time conferencing and collaboration technologies that meet the evolving needs of our government and defense clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement unified communications solutions using commercial and standards-based technologies
  • Collaborate with technical specialists to develop and deploy secure and reliable communication systems
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to early career staff to support their growth and development
  • Develop and maintain technical reports and documentation to ensure effective communication with stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in information science and technology, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in developing and deploying unified communications solutions. You should also have a solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, as well as experience with session border controllers, voice and video gateways, and IP and TDM-based systems.
