Ford Diesel Technician Job Description

Tuttle-Click Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team at the Ford/Lincoln Irvine dealership. As a Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on diesel vehicles, diagnosing and repairing automotive systems, and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders on diesel vehicles with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or Ford standards.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc., to specification.
  • Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
  • Explain diesel mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology.
  • Inspect and test new vehicles and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
  • Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate directly with service advisors regarding the status of the service work.
Qualifications:
  • Ford Diesel Certified Technicians highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience, preferred.
  • ASE Certification preferred.
  • A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair.
  • Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies.
  • Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality.
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications.
  • Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
