Restraints Engineer

At Ford Motor Company, we are seeking a highly skilled Restraints Engineer to join our team. As a Restraints Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing airbag and seatbelt systems to ensure the highest level of safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Design and develop airbag and seatbelt systems to meet or exceed regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate restraint systems into vehicles
• Conduct CAE analysis and testing to optimize restraint system performance
• Develop and manage validation plans to ensure restraint systems meet safety standards
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of restraint components

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience in vehicle safety restraint systems and/or vehicle crashworthiness
• 3+ years of CAE analysis and restraint system integration and optimization
• 3+ years of experience in the production release process
• 1+ year of experience in a factory setting launching a new product

• Master's degree in engineering
• Exceptional understanding of GD&T standards
• High level of expertise with Catia, Enovia, or similar tools
• Hands-on experience building and launching automotive products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
