Job Overview

The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a proficient technical project coordinator to enhance the Technology Division. This position entails overseeing projects, performing analyses, and deploying innovative law enforcement technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and supervise the development of infrastructure across various police facilities to facilitate technologies such as drones and automatic license plate readers (ALPR), along with their associated software platforms, ensuring smooth integration with existing law enforcement systems.

2. Under general supervision, oversee complex aspects of the software development life cycle, including needs analysis, cost-benefit assessments, structured systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, technology evaluations, and telecommunications needs analysis, all pertaining to enterprise systems like the Records Management System (RMS), including supporting infrastructure (on-premises or cloud-based).

Essential Duties:

• Foster stakeholder project awareness, engagement, and support leading to the successful implementation of new technologies.

• Review and secure approval for all procurement and implementation activities within the relevant department.

• Organize and facilitate departmental and inter-departmental meetings, creating agendas and documenting meeting minutes.

• Design, develop, and implement new systems in alignment with the project's scope, boundaries, and objectives.

• Oversee the modernization of the Records Management System (RMS) to comply with FBI and California DOJ crime statistics requirements.

• Contribute to, review, and obtain approval for Department Notices, MOUs, and contracts related to the implementation of new law enforcement technologies.

• Advocate for and document organizational process reviews and change management for successful implementations.

• Adhere to recognized Project Management methodologies for both waterfall and agile projects.

• Prepare timely, accurate, and insightful project reports for management.

• Monitor and document risks and issues, including tracking project tasks.

• Develop test plans, documentation, and training materials.

Collaboration:

Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Technology Division, with vendors, management, sworn members, command staff, and other City stakeholders. Represent the City and County of San Francisco at strategic or complex customer meetings or City events in a professional manner.

Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
