Job Summary

The Youth Support Specialist is a critical role in our organization, responsible for providing case management services to youth aged 18-28 who are at-risk of or experiencing sexual exploitation. This position requires a strong understanding of youth development principles and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 2 years of experience working in youth development, preferably in case management or a related human service field. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate professionalism in time management, communication, and problem-solving, as well as the ability to work independently and self-directed.

The Youth Support Specialist will work closely with the Youth Support Program Manager and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of programs and services that meet the needs of our youth participants. This includes performing case management functions, identifying and coordinating community resources, and establishing and maintaining working relationships with peers, community partners, and educators.

The successful candidate will be able to provide work direction to team members, interns, and volunteers as needed, and will be able to facilitate prosocial activities and demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of their work. The incumbent will also be responsible for completing trainings and certifications required of the program, attending required meetings, and being a good steward of resources available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management services to youth aged 18-28 who are at-risk of or experiencing sexual exploitation
  • Work closely with the Youth Support Program Manager and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of programs and services
  • Perform case management functions, including needs assessment, case planning, and management
  • Identify and coordinate community resources to support youth participants
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with peers, community partners, and educators
  • Provide work direction to team members, interns, and volunteers as needed
  • Facilitate prosocial activities
  • Complete trainings and certifications required of the program
  • Attend required meetings
  • Be a good steward of resources available

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as Human Services, Social Work, Corrections, or Youth Development)
  • At least 2 years of experience working in youth development, preferably in case management or a related human service field
  • Demonstrated professionalism in time management, communication, and problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently and self-directed
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
  • Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within the first 30 days of employment
  • Ability to transport youth to meetings and activities, if applicable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multilingual
  • Prior fundraising experience
  • Previous working with individuals who have been at-risk of or experiencing sexual exploitation
  • Lived experience is valued greatly
