Spiritual Care Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Spiritual Care Supervisor to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing spiritual support and care to our patients, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the daily operations of the assigned department, ensuring seamless delivery of spiritual care services.
- Plan and organize all clinical functions, including staffing, staff development, purchasing, budgeting, and employee engagement.
- Supervise, train, and develop department staff, fostering a culture of excellence and compassion.
- Ensure quality of pastoral care and patient satisfaction, continuously evaluating and improving our services.
- Assist with research, education, and training to support cutting-edge patient care and chaplaincy services.
- Support long-term strategic business plans through department-specific business planning and special projects.
- Monitor budget and provide management with reports and updates, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Provide daily direction to department personnel, directing all corresponding activities relating to department services.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, introducing services, and communicating effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
- 3 years of healthcare experience related to chaplaincy and/or supervisory or management experience.
- Certification as a board-certified chaplain by NACC, NAJC, or APC, with faith group endorsement for chaplaincy and ordination or commissioning to function in ministry/spiritual care.
