The primary objective of this position is to deliver technical expertise and support business initiatives through the development of new specialty paper products. This includes planning, designing, and executing experiments and trials to create product prototypes that fulfill specific objectives and timelines. Additionally, the role involves establishing new testing methodologies and product specifications as required.
Key Responsibilities- Drive the development of new products in alignment with Pixelle's strategic growth initiatives.
- Generate innovative ideas and intellectual property that contribute to increased sales and revenue streams.
- Enhance client relationships by preparing prototypes, defining product specifications and costs, and coordinating pilot trials.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving for both existing and new products across all Pixelle facilities.
- Provide technical support for procurement and cost-reduction strategies.
- Foster collaborative relationships within product development, operations, technical, and sales & marketing teams.
- Maintain external connections to stay informed about the latest technologies relevant to current and future business opportunities.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of industry trends and market dynamics, identifying potential threats and opportunities.
- Monitor and report on project progress using project management methodologies, ensuring thorough documentation of results.
- Engage with customers as necessary to gather insights and feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in paper science, chemical engineering, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience, with the possibility of substituting directly applicable work experience for formal education.
- Experience with specialty paper coatings is advantageous.
- Familiarity with coating processes, materials, and applications is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with customers.
