Job Title: Senior Buyer

At Mackinnon & Partners, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the materials, planning, and logistic functions of the company to ensure customer needs are satisfied.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and maintain a material procurement process that establishes and achieves the least total cost, best quality, and timely delivery
  • Oversee Supply Chain activities and employees, ensuring seamless coordination and communication
  • Interact and manage Internal global group companies that provide 80% of all purchases, fostering strong relationships and negotiating supply priorities
  • Supervise the purchase of production and/or non-production materials according to schedules or purchase requisitions, coordinating suppliers to meet the Company's goals regarding quality, delivery, and cost
  • Plan/Schedule suppliers/sub-contractors to maintain an uninterrupted flow of materials, including raw materials, components, sub-components, and services from internal, local, and overseas suppliers
  • Identify, notify, and manage potential shortages by planning and expediting internally and externally
  • Expedite and reschedule open purchase orders to suit customer service requirements by negotiating with suppliers for delaying or bringing forward, canceling, reducing, or minimizing ordered quantities to minimize the impact on inventory holding
  • Liaise with freight forwarders for all incoming materials from overseas suppliers and maintain in-transit reports for accurate online information for Customer Service
  • Support management team with all required reporting of data analysis and prepare reports for management presentations
  • Participate in the recruiting and hiring of Supply Chain staff
  • Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Educational: Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline
  • Experience: 5-10 years of Supply Chain Experience
  • Experience with ERP systems such as M3, SAP, or Oracle
  • Previous forecasting experience
  • Understand freight forwarding processes
  • Experience dealing with freight forwards, customs agents, and suppliers
  • Broad supply chain/distribution/manufacturing knowledge
  • Skills: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint; Advanced communication skills, verbal and written; Highly developed people management skills; Ability to develop strong working relationships; Experience in negotiating supply priorities of raw materials; Excellent organizational and planning skills; Ability to work effectively as part of a team; Ability to multi-task and handle competing deadlines
