Job Summary

As a Design Engineer II at MDS Staffing, you will be responsible for applying your knowledge and experience to design and develop equipment and processes for various projects. Your primary focus will be on ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide equipment and process design from concept to startup and operation on multiple projects, meeting project timelines and minimizing costs.
  • Travel as required to support project execution, providing technical assistance and training to customers.
  • Perform engineering calculations and analyses related to process design and equipment sizing and selection.
  • Provide engineering support to customers, Sales, R&D, and Aftermarket teams for chemical processes.
  • Review design and perform code calculation requirements for pressure vessels.
  • Assist with training and mentor Level I Engineers.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 3-6+ years related experience (Level II).
  • Proficient in project scheduling, tracking, and reporting, process flow diagram creation, piping and instrumentation diagram creation, plant process design, layout, and sizing, equipment layout and design.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical and commercial contracts.
  • Required knowledge in AutoCAD, with preferred knowledge in Autodesk Inventor, CAD Vault, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Ability to travel on an as-needed basis, domestically or internationally, up to 25% of the time.
