Job Title: Registered Nurse - Thoracic Surgery

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Thoracic Surgery team in Somerville, Massachusetts.

About the Unit:

Ellison 19 is a 30-bed Thoracic, Vascular and Laryngeal Surgery unit, primarily caring for patients after PACU recovery.

Our team provides postoperative management for complex thoracic, esophageal, pulmonary, laryngeal, tracheal resections and reconstruction, as well as diverse vascular surgeries including amputations, aortic grafting, and interventional procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including chest tube and tracheal tube management, pain management via Epidural or IV catheters, and telemetry monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence.
  • Support the development of new nurses and students through precepting and mentoring.
