We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary health team at UW Health. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients with cancer and benign hematologic conditions in a primarily outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients in active treatment and those with benign hematologic conditions.
- Provide new and follow-up appointments at East Park Medical Center and Johnson Creek Cancer Clinic locations, as well as other UW Health regional/outreach cancer clinics.
- Offer inpatient coverage one week per month for hematology/oncology patients at Unity Point Health-Meriter Hospital, conducting history and physical examinations prior to admissions and rounding on patients in a consultative role.
- Perform routine clinical procedures independently, including bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures with intrathecal chemotherapy.
- Master's or Doctorate's degree from an accredited Nursing Program (for Nurse Practitioners) or Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited PA Program (for Physician Assistants).
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience caring for hematology/medical oncology patients.
- Preferred experience with acute and ambulatory cancer patient care.
- State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure, as well as active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice.
- Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice or active PA board certification.
- Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
