Position Overview:

The Echocardiography Technician I plays a crucial role in the assessment of cardiac health through the operation of ultrasound technology. This position involves performing a variety of diagnostic echocardiographic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct ultrasound imaging on patients in accordance with established departmental protocols.
  • Execute 2D and Doppler echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and assist in Transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Prepare and ensure the proper functioning of ultrasound equipment for all procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of examination rooms and equipment.
  • Perform quality assurance checks and keep detailed logs of equipment usage.
  • Engage in patient testing and maintain effective communication with healthcare team members.
  • Carry out bedside examinations when required.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments and provide necessary education and orientation.
  • Alert medical personnel to any critical findings observed during procedures.
  • Deliver post-procedure care and education to patients.
  • Contribute to departmental quality assurance initiatives and equipment assessments.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent health-related certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer credential from ARDMS.
  • Current BLS Certification.
