Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Planner is tasked with the strategic coordination and scheduling of preventative maintenance activities, as well as overseeing spare parts inventory management for a diverse team of skilled tradespeople and resources. This role is pivotal in driving business success by ensuring the upkeep of top-tier manufacturing and testing equipment, as well as the facilities that support both customers and employees. Utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), the planner ensures the accuracy and efficiency of maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties of the Facilities Maintenance Planner:
  • Enhance customer satisfaction and ensure timely completion of work based on priorities established by stakeholders, focusing primarily on manufacturing-related tasks such as safety, equipment efficiency, lean initiatives, preventative maintenance, and operational improvements.
  • Act as the primary contact for the CMMS (Maximo) within the facility.
  • Oversee the scheduling of maintenance for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary parts for scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for preventative maintenance and associated work activities.
  • Contribute effectively as an individual while supporting team objectives.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of the facility's fleet and equipment, including vehicles, fire safety systems, elevators, water systems, compressed air, and landscaping.
  • Plan, schedule, and balance the workload of the maintenance department.
  • Provide technical support to internal clients, trade personnel, or contractors, either via phone or in person.
  • Manage and maintain documentation of preventative maintenance activities for audit purposes.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, including energy savings related to assets.
  • Support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program requirements.
  • Report on maintenance achievements in areas such as safety improvements, preventative maintenance, repair work orders, and project enhancements.
  • Undertake additional projects as assigned.
Quality and Compliance Goals:
  • Complete all required Quality & Compliance training within designated timeframes.
  • Identify and address any quality or compliance issues promptly.
  • Possess knowledge of relevant Facilities and Maintenance Procedures & Policies to ensure compliance with all equipment and documentation.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Maintenance Planning/Scheduling or Manufacturing.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, project management, or facility management.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, HVAC, and fire protection systems.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and implement strategies in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated success as a change agent.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Maximo), Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.
  • Experience with the Maximo Application Suite (MAS).
  • Experience in creating Job Kits.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification.
  • Effective collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

PB2
