Key ResponsibilitiesThe Hospitalist Physician will oversee the care of in-patients assigned to Garnet Health. Responsibilities include providing direct clinical care and managing the medical needs of acutely ill adult patients who are hospitalized. As a vital member of the interdisciplinary team, the Hospitalist will enhance efficiency and ensure a seamless continuum of care from admission through discharge. This continuum encompasses general adult medicine, internal medicine consultations as needed, and the management of patients with various comorbidities. The role requires familiarity with standard practices and procedures within the medical field, relying on experience and judgment to achieve objectives. A high degree of creativity and independence is expected. The Hospitalist will perform assigned duties while upholding the highest ethical standards and acting in the best interests of Garnet Health, aligning with our mission, vision, and values to optimize patient health and well-being.

Garnet Health System adheres to New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The compensation range for this role is $255,158 annually. This range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Several factors may be considered when determining a team member's compensation, including location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
QualificationsEducation Requirements:
M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school.
Experience Requirements:
Preferred: 2 years of experience in a Hospitalist setting.
Certification/Registration Requirements:
New York State Medical License
Active and Unrestricted D.E.A. Certificate
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Hospital Medicine and Internal Medicine
Current ACLS certification required; updated BLS certification recommended.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and sit intermittently throughout the day. Capability to lift, push, and pull light to heavy weights as necessary.
Working Conditions:
In-patient Hospital Service environment. The position primarily involves light work, requiring lifting up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching may be required.
