WORK LOCATION: Texas City, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for generating quotations for metal fabrication by evaluating request specifications, technical drawings, and related documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Calculate costs by determining materials, purchased components, fabrication techniques, and time requirements using established rate tables in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
  • Identify the most efficient material usage and fabrication methods.
  • Address discrepancies by gathering and analyzing relevant information.
  • Present detailed estimates by compiling and showcasing numerical and descriptive data.
  • Regularly review job costings to ensure the precision of estimates and the estimating process.
  • Analyze blueprints, bills of quantities, and other project documentation to accurately estimate costs.
  • Research, source, and negotiate to secure the best pricing and quotes from suppliers and contractors.
  • Evaluate data that may influence costs, such as daily material price fluctuations, freight, and job-specific treatments.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in CAD software.
  • Possess a broad understanding of various metals and the equipment required to complete projects.
  • Maintain meticulous records.
  • Engage effectively with clients.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Industrial Metal Fabrication Estimating.
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting metal fabrication blueprints and specifications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
