About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our team at Collins Aerospace Careers. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of complex tasks in the maintenance department, including operating, designing, programming, fabricating, assembling, installing, modifying, calibrating, repairing, and performing regular maintenance of manufacturing equipment, precision machine tools, electronic or robotic equipment, and other accessories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of complex tasks in the maintenance department, including operating, designing, programming, fabricating, assembling, installing, modifying, calibrating, repairing, and performing regular maintenance of manufacturing equipment, precision machine tools, electronic or robotic equipment, and other accessories.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machine tools and PLCs using electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, or hydraulic test equipment.
  • Research, acquire, install, and inspect repair components as needed to complete machine tool repairs.
  • Utilize maintenance software packages for developing and documenting standard operating instructions, spare parts databases, assigned turn-back repairs, QCPC projects, and turn-back collections.
  • Coordinate with machine operators and management to schedule work orders and PMs, and verify the success of repairs.
  • Consult with vendors and equipment manufacturers on repairs and upgrades.
  • Maintain work and storage areas in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Utilize required material handling and lifting devices while performing duties.
  • Participate in training programs for lockout/tagout, hazardous energy, confined space, power industrial vehicles, fall protection, and scissor/boom lifts.
  • Ability to read and create basic blueprints and schematics.
  • Must be able to stand for 2-hour increments without an opportunity to sit, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Lifting requirements should not exceed 25 pounds, with assistance required for heavier lifting.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and/or ladders.
  • Successful completion of hearing and PIV physical exams.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a high school diploma and 2 years of experience, or in the absence of a high school diploma or GED, 4 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
  • Associate degree in electro-mechanical programs or equivalent.
  • Experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC and other industrial electronics.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use multiple computer applications.
