Veterinary Care Specialist for Advanced Animal Care

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Advanced Animal Care.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing the treatment plan prescribed by Doctors, running diagnostic tests as ordered by doctors on duty, administering medications, intaking and discharging hospitalized patients, discussing financial standings with pet owners, processing daily hospital charges, charting patient information, and updating pet owners about the status of their hospitalized pets. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have excellent patient care and customer service skills, maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in veterinary care, either as a licensed veterinary technician or equivalent experience in emergency or critical care. Key skills required include proper animal restraint, peripheral catheter placement, venipuncture, basic bandage application, administration of oral and parenteral medications, knowledge of various routes of drug administration, anesthetic monitoring, surgical preparation, and recording vital signs. You should also possess computer skills for maintaining accurate medical records and proficiency in laboratory testing and procedures.

Schedule:
This is a full-time position requiring 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate will be willing to work a variety of shifts, including nights, to ensure around-the-clock care for our patients.
