About the Role:

We are seeking a Nutrition Support Specialist to join our team at Lifespan. This is a part-time opportunity with a shift schedule of 2.

Job Summary:

The Nutrition Support Specialist will be responsible for providing nutrition support services to patients in accordance with their dietary needs. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently within department policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select and modify menus to conform to patient diet orders as prescribed by physician and the Brown University Health Diet Manual.
  • Provide meal assistance to patients on a daily basis, including meal-by-meal selection, assembly, and service.
  • Accurately serve food and beverages to patients in accordance with their diet prescriptions.
  • Assist patients in making appropriate daily menu selections.
  • Process daily menu labels, diet changes, transfers, discharges, and new admissions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex and/or to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question.
  • The ability to speak clearly and politely to patients, associates, and managers when conveying information using correct grammar and not using slang terms.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on location and experience.
