Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of our EHS Management System and partner with plant leadership to drive improvement across the location EHS program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the Utz EHS management system to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
- Integrate EHS into all plant processes and develop and implement EHS related projects at the location to meet risk reduction objectives.
- Identify location specific trends and solutions in partnership with the location management team and lead the location incident management program.
- Communicate facility metrics within the location and to Utz EHS Leadership and conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes.
- Develop and manage regulatory compliance task list to ensure all regulatory related items are completed properly, on time, and submitted to correct agencies.
- Facilitate Workers Compensation process at the location in partnership with the Utz Risk Management team and maintain a current working knowledge of EHS regulations and laws.
- Recommend and implement programs to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Act as location liaison between Utz and regulatory agencies and manage location training matrix, provide training, and tracking for EHS training and communication programs.
- At a minimum annually review the effectiveness of the Utz EHS Management System at the location to update and revise as necessary to drive continual improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, safety engineering, or related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Participate in industry specific organizations for continuing education and professional certification such as CSP or NEBOSH.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management, with demonstrated leadership experience and knowledge of OSHA and other applicable industry EHS standards.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and external auditors and ability to understand and execute processes including recognizing customer needs, communicating process changes, measuring, and assessing success and identifying areas of improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure, adjust work hours as needed, and develop and maintain relationships with all levels within and outside the organization.
