About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rail Project Manager to join our team at V3 Companies Ltd. As a key member of our Chicago Region Transportation and Municipal Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading rail projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our talented staff, clients, and subconsultants to deliver multi-disciplinary projects and project pursuits.
  • Set the pace and ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and performance targets.
  • Establish and manage delivery protocols pertaining to rail engineering projects.
  • Lead the charge in engineering design tasks for rail projects, from conceptual sketches to final blueprints.
  • Mentor and guide our rising stars, ensuring a brighter future for rail engineering.
  • Review rail engineering documents meticulously, ensuring excellence is our standard.
  • Craft compelling proposals and attend interviews for new project pursuits.
  • Forge relationships with Class I Railroads and public sector clientele, attending networking events and representing V3 with pride.
  • Become an active member of AREMA (American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association), joining a technical committee and contributing to industry advancements.
  • Manage client accounts, billing, and collections, ensuring professionalism and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years leading rail projects for Class I Railroads, passenger rail, and transit agencies.
  • PE/BSCE required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • AREMA membership preferred.
  • Tech savvy, with experience in Microstation/OpenRail.
