  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, advising senior management on the tax implications of business decisions.
  • Review and approve tax-related journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of tax-related financial reporting.
  • Mentor and guide junior tax accountants, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development within the tax department.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, incorporating tax considerations as appropriate.
  • Evaluate current tax processes and controls, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in preparing and filing corporate tax returns, and managing tax audits.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax information and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Proficiency in tax software Lacerte and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical business practices.
