Job Summary

The Quality Manager will oversee and coordinate the activities of the Quality Department, including Final Inspectors and Quality Specialists. This role requires a strong leader who can direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods.
  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives, and coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers.
  • Manage, plan, coordinate, and direct quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production/service consistent with established standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D to determine product specifications and review finished products.
  • Ensure all team leaders are following standard work and engage their teams on a daily basis.
  • Report daily key performance indicators (KPI) for separate areas.
  • Hold and participate in daily KPI meetings on the floor with staff.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet quality goals.
  • Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  • Review employees' attendance and hours worked.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.

Requirements
  • Solid proficiency in Excel.

  • Solid interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business partner relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong teamwork and project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and organize workload to meet organizational timelines in a fast-paced, very high-growth environment.
  • Results-oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Able to proactively question and challenge to prioritize and identify solutions in a timely manner.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Six Sigma and 5s knowledge.

Education and Experience
  • BA/BS degree required. Black Belt certification a plus.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of Quality Experience.
  • Woodworking and guitar experience is a plus.

Work Environment
  • Manufacturing locations.
  • Office locations.
  • Showroom.

Travel Requirements
  • Periodic travel to and between the company's manufacturing and sales locations will be required (5-10%).
