Key Responsibilities:- Investigate deaths in New Mexico, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the cause and manner of death.
- Work closely with law enforcement, funeral homes, and transporters to ensure a thorough and efficient investigation.
- Collect and analyze evidence, including photographs and medical records.
- Prepare and submit reports to the OMI, detailing the findings of the investigation.
- Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and procedures in death investigation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in a related field (e.g., anatomy, physiology, kinesiology) preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license required.
- A competitive hourly rate of $20.12.
