Position Overview

Role: ABE ESL Educator

Starting Salary: $25

Class Schedule: Morning and/or Evening Classes as required

In this role, you will be tasked with delivering Adult Basic Education - ESL instruction in both classroom and learning center environments. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate student records related to assessments, attendance, and progress to meet grant compliance requirements. Collaborate with Adult Basic Education program personnel to enhance and sustain the program's offerings across Yavapai County. Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, students, the community, and grant agencies.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Adult Education or a related discipline.
  • Possession or eligibility for Arizona Adult Education Teacher Certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Ability to learn the proprietary Adult Education database, NRSPro (National Reporting System Pro).
  • Prior experience in adult education is essential.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Willingness to participate in mandatory professional development, which may involve travel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Consistent attendance is crucial to demonstrate reliability in fulfilling job responsibilities.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Adult Education, TESOL, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Arizona Department of Education (AZDE) Adult Education Services (AES) assessment standards, data collection, and teaching state standards.
  • Experience in administering TABE and TABE CLAS E assessments.
  • Professional background in a community college or higher education setting.
