Job Title: Principal Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Equipment Technology Lab team in Hartford, CT. As a key member of our team, you will provide subject matter expertise in small commercial to industrial-size mechanical systems and controls.

Responsibilities:

* Provide technical expertise in mechanical systems and controls
* Increase equipment knowledge and identify emerging trends for Industry 4.0 technologies
* Drive learning back through underwriting, claims, and new products business units
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve business results

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
* Master's degree in Engineering or MBA a plus
* Registration as a Professional Engineer a plus
* 15+ years experience in design, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, or operations
* Strong knowledge in a specific area to qualify as an expert
* Experience writing technical papers, specifications, and evaluating mechanical equipment a plus
* Knowledge of insurance industry a plus
