About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Therapeutic Educator Assistant to join our team at Dominion Care. As a Therapeutic Educator Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting students and staff in a therapeutic special education learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students and staff in a therapeutic special education learning environment by reinforcing positive behavior, observing and controlling behavior, and reporting progress to teachers.
  • Confer with teachers concerning programs and materials to meet student's needs, and assist students by providing proper examples, emotional support, friendly attitude, and general guidance.
  • Set up work areas, displays and exhibits, and operate various educational equipment as needed.
  • Perform clerical duties such as preparation of behavioral materials, recording points, taking attendance, and maintaining records and files.
  • Ensure the health and safety of students by following all health and safety rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma with two years of increasingly responsible child development experience. Postsecondary training in psychology, sociology, education or a combination of training and experience is desirable.
  • Current certification in Therapeutic Options, and the ability to carry out the procedure correctly (training provided during New Hire Orientation and yearly recertification).
  • Current certification in Adult and Child First Aid, CPR, and AED (training provided during New Hire Orientation).

Salary Range: $42,000 - $58,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
