Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hospitality Renovation Estimator to enhance our growing team focused on hospitality renovation projects. The Estimator will be responsible for effective communication regarding hotel renovation projects, conducting site visits as necessary to gather essential information, and preparing comprehensive Prebid packages, including estimates, budgets, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver precise and timely estimates for assigned projects while fostering strong relationships with clients and hotel operations teams to ensure BlueTeam remains the preferred service provider.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate internal project files.
  • Receive and manage new assignments from the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate internal meetings with the Hospitality Renovation team.
  • Communicate project estimates to local and corporate stakeholders at designated intervals to manage expectations.
  • Ensure smooth transitions into production by effectively communicating client expectations internally.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary to collect relevant project information.
  • Recruit, evaluate, and issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to subcontractors and labor groups as required for each project.
  • Engage daily with the Hospitality Renovation team to monitor progress and timing of site visits, as well as client communication regarding estimate timelines.
  • Scope renovation work and prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate in accordance with BlueTeam Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop initial budgets and project schedules to include in the Prebid package.
  • Prepare and submit the Prebid package for review and approval, ensuring all estimates, budgets, and schedules are finalized.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to determine the best approach for presenting estimates.
  • Work closely with the project manager to finalize contract terms and execution.
  • Prepare turnover packages and facilitate project handoffs to the Project Manager.
  • Regularly follow up during production to assess progress and prepare change orders as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Estimator in hotel renovation projects, specifically with a General Contractor.
  • Proven experience in hotel renovation estimating is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel renovation, construction, and maintenance practices, as well as relevant local, state, and federal building codes.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize tasks, multi-task effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation skills are a must.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, including pre-bid documents, construction drawings, contracts, and safety regulations.
  • Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time, with potential for up to one week away from home per project.
  • Availability to respond to emergency situations at any time, including being on call.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including internet, email (MS Outlook), MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project.
