Job Summary

Penn Medicine is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to patients, conducting innovative research, and educating future leaders in the field of medicine. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the clinical and production pharmacy services provided to assigned patients, including checking of filled orders, supplies, and pharmacy technicians' work.
  • Provide clinical decisions regarding patient-specific pharmaceutical care, including assessment of patients' general pharmaceutical needs, review of patients' medication profiles, and evaluation for duplicate therapies and drug interactions.
  • Ensure the safety of patients and pharmacy personnel, and provide in-service programs to all personnel on any aspect of drug therapy and related infusion devices.
  • Participate in Penn Medicine's Continuous Quality Improvement program and accept physician prescription orders, evaluating their appropriateness for dosage, drug choice, and potential drug interactions.
  • Monitor patients' response to treatment, including subjective and objective assessment, and laboratory tests when necessary, and obtain and discuss the results with nurses and physicians.
Requirements
  • Pharmacist (Required)
  • Pennsylvania State Pharmacist License required
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (Required)
  • Education Specialization: BS in Pharmaceutical Science or Equivalent Experience
