Water Sector Career Advancement Specialist

Veolia North America is seeking a skilled professional to lead our workforce development efforts in the water sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community engagement, talent acquisition, and workforce development, with a passion for advancing career opportunities in the water industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive workforce development strategy for the water sector in the Milwaukee area, aligning with the goals of Veolia, the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, The Water Council, and other water sector stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local schools, and other stakeholders to develop and implement educational and job training opportunities, preparing candidates for internships, apprenticeships, and career paths in the water industry.
- Develop a robust training program for interns, working with Milwaukee representatives, union representatives, and Veolia management to ensure a well-defined training program and career paths for interns to develop key skills required to become employees in the water industry.
- Coordinate with VNA stakeholders, including workforce development programs in other regions, the Government Affairs team, the Communications team, and the wider Municipal Water department, to share best practices and collaborate on workforce development initiatives across the company.
- Maintain regular contact and serve as a Veolia workforce development liaison to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, The Water Council, Employ Milwaukee, and other workforce development partners and boards throughout the region.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5-10 years of related experience, with demonstrated experience supporting partnerships, talent acquisition, workforce development, community engagement, and/or social impact initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while coordinating with internal and external teams.
- Knowledge of and experience working within the community advocacy, social impact, higher education, and/or workforce development ecosystems.
- Ability to interact with a diverse group of people within the community, management team, and client in a courteous, diplomatic, and professional manner.
